Zlepšení diagnózy demence v primární péči – role mezioborové spolupráce

Demence je obávaným onemocněním vyššího věku, které postihuje 5-8 % populace nad 65 let. Již dnes je v ČR více než 100 000 pacientů postiženo tímto onemocněním a každým rokem přibývá 25 000 nových onemocnění. Prodlužování střední délky života zvyšuje i riziko výskytu onemocnění. Bohužel demence patří nejen k nejrychleji narůstajícím, ale také k nejhůře diagnostikovaným onemocněním. U 60-70 % postižených není onemocnění rozpoznáno a u většiny diagnostikovaných případů je rozpoznáno pozdě, po 3-5 letech trvání nemoci. Jen 5 % z celkových nákladů je vynaloženo na diagnózu a léčbu, zbývajících 95 % na ošetřování a dlouhodobou ústavní léčbu. V textu se zabýváme příčinami pozdní a nesprávné diagnózy demence v klinické praxi. Jsou diskutovány kompetence praktického lékaře a jednotlivých specialistů a přínos mezioborové spolupráce pro zlepšení diagnózy a léčby demencí.
