Etiopatogenéza zajakavosti vo svetle nových poznatkov

Zajakavosťou sa dnes zaoberá toľko odborov, že sa dokonca začína používať termín balbutológia ako spoločný termín, vyjadrujúci vzájomný prienik poznatkov z disciplín zacielených na tento problém. Pokiaľ ide o etiológiu vzhľadom na jej možné orgánové pozadie, najnovšie poznatky prinášajú viacero informácií, potvrdzujúcich pravdepodobnú dyskoordináciu mozgových hemisfér. Patogenéza zajakavosti prebieha pravdepodobne v troch fázach (incipientná, fixovaná chronická zajakavosť), pričom v každej z nich má prienik nadmernej námahy, psychickej tenzie a dysfluencie svoje výrazné špecifiká. Ak má byť terapia úspešná, musí tieto špecifiká zohľadniť.
