Článek podává přehled o jednotlivých formách paměti, jejích anatomických korelátech a přibliľuje některé nejčastějąí poruchy paměti. V textu je diskutováno rozdělení paměti na krátkodobou i dlouhodobou, je pojednáváno o paměti explicitní a implicitní, pozornost je věnována epizodické, sémantické i procedurální paměti a primingu. Zvláątní zřetel je věnován klíčové funkci hippokampálních struktur.
