Temporolimbické syndromy

Časná detekce kognitivních a behaviorálních poruch při fokálních cerebrálních lézích je již dlouhodobě předmětem zkoumání a zájmu odborné veřejnosti. S anatomickými strukturami temporálních laloků bývají z mentálních procesů nejčastěji spojovány paměťové a řečové schopnosti, sluchová a zraková percepce, změny v osobnosti a chování. Pro posledně zmíněné se klíčovým jeví limbický systém, zejména pak amygdala, která mj. dává emocionální zabarvení námi prožitým událostem a zasazuje je do emocionálního kontextu, napomáhá interpretaci sociálního chování, ovlivňuje míru vyjádření agresivity či naopak moduluje -ochranitelské- chování, má vliv na prožitky strachu a na sexuální chování.

Dysfunkce temporolimbických struktur může ústit v některé specifické syndromy, mezi něž lze především zahrnout Klüver-Bucyho syndrom a Geschwindův syndrom. K charakteristickým symptomům Klüver-Bucyho syndromu se v současnosti řadí: hypersexualita, hyperoralita, placidita, vizuální agnozie, snížení agresivity, změny v dietních zvycích a poruchy paměti. Geschwindův syndrom bývá vymezován: hyposexualitou, hypergrafií, hyperreligiozitou (vč. hypermoralizování), viskozitou (excesivní tendence k dotýkání se a blízkosti v sociálním kontaktu).
