Sekundární bolesti hlavy

Sekundární bolesti hlavy jsou na rozdíl od primárních bolestí hlavy vyvolány známou příčinou. Jde o velice různorodou skupinu bolestí hlavy jak po stránce lokalizace, intenzity, frekvence a závažnosti od naprosto banální přičiny až po nejzávažnější, někdy i fatálně končící stavy.

Mezi tzv. varovná znamení (red flags), alarmující možné závažné postižení mozku spojené s výskytem bolesti hlavy, řadíme zejména začátek bolesti hlavy po 50. roku věku, rychlý rozvoj bolesti, progredující bolest navzdory obvyklé léčbě, přítomnost fokálních neurologických příznaků nebo narůstající nitrolební hypertenze, předcházející úraz hlavy, koincidenci nové bolesti hlavy s nádorovým nebo systémovým onemocněním. Ve všech těchto případech je nutné diferenciálně diagnostické upřesnění.
