Nové trendy v transkraniální magnetické stimulaci

TMS je moderní, neinvazivní a bezpečná metoda sloužící k funkčnímu vyšetření centrálního a periferního nervového systému. Od svého objevu v osmdesátých letech 20. století a postupného zavedení do klinické praxe se stala běžnou vyšetřovací metodou. Stále hojněji je využívána k účelům vědeckým, ke studiu funkcí různých části mozkové kůry. Rozvoj po stránce technické postupně umožňuje stimulace nejen jednotlivými podněty; používá se rovněž párová i repetitivní TMS. Různé druhy stimulačních cívek umožňují stále fokálnější stimulaci, včetně stimulace struktur dříve obtížně dosažitelných – např. mozečku. Přehledový článek pokrývá teoretické i praktické aspekty současných trendů v TMS. Poukazuje na možnosti využití jak ke studiu fyziologických funkcí lidského mozku, možnosti terapeutické a v neposlední řadě možnost kombinace s pozitronovou emisní tomografií, funkční magnetickou rezonancí a elektroencefalografií.
