Hnisavé meningitidy nejmladších věkových skupin

Hnisavé meningitidy nejmladších věkových skupin se odlišují proti dospělému věku nejen spektrem původců infekcí, ale též  klinickým obrazem a komplikacemi. Přitom právě ve věkové skupině novorozenců a kojenců dosahují meningitidy nejvyšší specifickou morbiditu i mortalitu. Incidence hnisavých meningitid u dětí se mění v posledních letech dostupností vakcinace proti nejběžnějším patogenům.
