Neepileptické záchvaty nepsychogénneho pôvodu

V praxi často stretávame pacientov s rôznymi záchvatovými ťažkosťami, ktoré je potrebné oddiferencovať od epileptických záchvatov (EZ). Okrem psychogénnych neepileptických záchvatov (PNEZ) sú to tzv. organické neepileptické záchvaty (ONEZ). Najčastejšie sa vyskytujú poruchy krvného zásobenia mozgu (najmä synkopy), tranzitórne ischemické ataky a migréna. Extrapyramídové poruchy sú zastúpené myoklonom, paroxyzmálnymi dyskinéziami a rôznymi druhmi tremoru. Poruchy spánku zo skupiny dyssomnií (kataplexia), ale hlavne parasomnií (somnambulizmus, pavor nocturnus, nočná mora, porucha správania počas REM spánku) môžu mať taktiež za následok stanovenie chybnej diagnózy epilepsie. K ďalším ONEZ radíme tzv. kmeňové záchvaty, endokrinné poruchy so záchvatovým priebehom (karcinoid, inzulinóm) ako aj prejavy niektorých metabolických porúch (porfýria, intoxikácie).
