Nová antiepileptika u dospělých – nové informace

Nová antiepileptika (AE), která jsou k dispozici v ČR nebo v SR: felbamát, gabapentin, lamotrigin, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepin (v SR na trhu, v ČR je registrován, ale není dovážen), pregabalin, tiagabin, topiramát, vigabatrin, zonisamid (t.č. v registraci). Nová AE mají většinou méně nežádoucích účinků a interakcí než standardní AE. Liší se svými mechanizmy účinku, takže mohou být účinná u pacientů, u kterých jiná AE selhala. Všechna nová AE jsou indikovaná pro přídatnou terapii. Pro monoterapii jsou v Evropě z nových AE schváleny gabapentin, lamotrigin, levetiracetam, oxcarbazepin, topiramát a vigabatrin. Podávání felbamátu a vigabatrinu je omezeno vzhledem k riziku nežádoucích účinků. Nová AE mají potenciál pro nové indikace.
