Syndróm nepokojných nôh a insomnia

Syndróm nepokojných nôh (SNN) je známe, ale relatívne zriedkavo diagnostikované neurologické ochorenie. Je charakterizované dyskomfortnými senzitívnymi vnemami so začiatkom alebo zvýraznením v období telesného a duševného pokoja a motorickými prejavmi smerujúcimi k zmierneniu alebo odstráneniu tohto dyskomfortu, a to dovtedy, kým pohyb trvá. Príznaky majú cirkadiánnu distribúciu s maximom vo večerných a nočných hodinách a môžu tak interferovať s fázou spánku. Článok sa okrem prehľadu súčasných poznatkov o SNN, jeho diagnostických kritérií, všeobecných zásad diagnostiky a aktuálnych odporučení na liečbu ochorenia, venuje i vzťahu SNN a insomnie, ktorá až v 90 % sprevádza toto ochorenie. Tá môže v anamnéze prekrývať esenciálne príznaky ochorenia, a tak viesť k nesprávnej diagnóze typu insomnia a jej nesprávnej liečbe.
