Daniel Truong je Američan vietnamského původu, který ve spolupráci se Světovou neurologickou federací organizuje kurzy neurologie v rozvojových zemích. Vloni jsme byli ve Vietnamu, příští rok snad Afrika. Pacienty jsem viděl na workshopu věnovanému epilepsii. Epilepsie jsou v Mongolsku považované za prioritu. Jsou velmi rozšířené, a to hlavně v důsledku úrazů (prý protože nejčastějším dopravním prostředkem je kůň, já však viděl všude jen až neuvěřitelně bravurní jezdce). Kolegové, kteří se účastnili dalších workshopů, líčili ještě horší poměry. Extrapyramidová onemocnění jsou nedostatečně diagnostikovaná, moc neznají dystonie, levodopu dostává asi 20 % (poznaných) parkinsoniků, pro další mají jenom anticholinergika.
