Slovo úvodem

Vážené kolegyně, kolegové, když mu bylo deset a utíkal s rodiči před nacisty do USA, rozhodl se, že se bude zabývat mozkem. Objeví, proč jeho vídeňští sousedé věřili absurditám a nesmyslům, které jej vyhnaly z domova. Jeho touha studovat mozek jej neopustila ani v prvním ročníku historie na Harvardu, ale modifikovalo ji setkání s kolegyní, rovněž vídeňskou emigrantkou, jejíž rodiče byli psychoanalytiky. S rozhodnutím, že objeví biologickou podstatu psychoanalýzy, vystudoval medicínu. My s nadhledem realistů víme, jak byla jeho rozhodnutí naivní, přímo pošetilá. Pochopitelně nic z toho, co si umanul, mu nevyšlo. Nezjistil, ani proč se lidé vzdávají myšlení v prospěch fanatismu, ani proč slovo léčí duši, kterou notabene také nikdo ještě v mozku nenašel. Nobelovu cenu dostal za něco úplně jiného...
